Los Angeles resident, Allene Wynn, just turned 105. To celebrate, she got the birthday of her dreams: She met Kobe Bryant and the L.A. Lakers at a recent game against the New Orleans Hornets.
Wynn is possibly the Lakers' oldest fan -- she has a wall in her living room covered with Lakers-related photos and memorabilia. According to the Long Beach Press-Telegram, she's been watching the team since the days of Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
"It just made me feel good all over to meet him in person. I've been wanting to meet him for years," Wynn told ESPNLosAngeles.com. "I got to touch him. I shook hands with him and hugged him. I said, 'Wait, let me hug you, baby,'" she said.
The star spent about five minutes with Wynn before the game began. After the game, Bryant signed his sneakers for her: "To Allene, with love, Kobe Bryant," the autograph read.
"That's unbelievable, 105 years old," Bryant said about their meeting. "I don't think this game did anything to relax her."
The Lakers ended up winning the game 88-85 after a late 3-pointer by Bryant.
Despite being a fan, Wynn minced no words about the Lakers' performance: "I told him what I thought about his playing ... I said, 'You don't play like I want you to play.' I said, 'I done came all the way over here and I don't want to see none of that sorry stuff.'"
But in the end, it was all worth it.
"I wouldn't have missed this for nothing," she said.
